Reason for Upgrade

To further strengthen business continuity, data protection, and service resilience, LawPractica performed an infrastructure upgrade of its Backup Environments for Legal Firms. This upgrade ensures that every LawPractica client has access to a dedicated backup environment designed to support continued operations in the unlikely event of a primary service interruption. The enhancement included updates to backup infrastructure, database restoration processes, and system reliability improvements.

What we have done

As part of this upgrade, LawPractica enhanced its automated backup and recovery process. Each law firm now has access to a dedicated backup address: https://{law-firm-name}-backup.lawpractica.com.

The Backup Site maintains a daily restored copy of the firm's data. Automated restoration runs every day at 4:00 AM EST / 1:00 AM PST, ensuring that a recent and validated copy of data is available when required.

The Backup Site is not intended to replace real-time operations, but it provides an additional layer of protection and business continuity. In the unlikely event of a primary system outage, law firms can access their backup environment at any time with data restored from the latest successful automated recovery point.

What we have achieved

The Backup Site upgrade was completed successfully with no impact to normal LawPractica operations. These improvements provide all LawPractica users with enhanced disaster recovery capability, improved data availability, and greater confidence that their critical legal practice and accounting information remains protected.

Reason for Upgrade

To remain aligned with industry standards, vendor's support agreements and enhanced security requirements, LawPractica performed an infrastructure upgrade on Saturday, 23rd August 2025. This included updates to Server's operating system, database services, network redundancy and backup systems.

What we have done

During the upgrade, client traffic was seamlessly redirected to our Backup (DR) site, ensuring uninterrupted access and smooth operations for Law Firms. Infrastructure team began the upgrade at 1:00 AM EST / 11:00 PM PST and was completed in exactly 89 minutes.

What we have achieved

The upgrade was completed without downtime. These enhancements further improve performance, reliability, and resilience for all LawPractica users.
